The Institute was founded in 1935 with an aim to facilitate professional and specialized training in Visual Communication.
In 1975 I got admission to JJ. During the course, it was a realization that it’s not about just drawing skills but a scientific approach to art and shaping it into a professional communication.
I was able to score 1st rank throughout the 5 years and secured a place in the ‘Roll of Honour’ by claiming 1st class 1st place throughout Maharashtra, in the final year.

Though Lintas provided a secure and motivational environment, it was not sufficient to meet the pressing financial requirements.
I had no option but to find ways to earn that extra money by moonlighting during nights and working weekends, without losing any focus or hampering the dedication towards my duties at LINTAS.
I feel indebted to Mr. R. Kumar of Fulford India for supporting me during those difficult days. During our last meeting, when I told him about taking a job at Muscat, he said, “Oh God, you are just about to uproot all the relations you have built so far…”
